CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – April 22, 2025 – Grain Craft, the largest independent wheat flour miller in the nation, announced today they have finalized an agreement with the Port of Portland for a long-term lease extension of the Grain Craft Portland flour mill property.
Grain Craft has operated this Portland mill, located at the Port of Portland’s Terminal 4, since 2014 when the company acquired Cereal Food Processors. The mill was originally run by Terminal Flour Mills, who began operations in the 1940’s and was later purchased by Cereal Food Processors in 1982. Today Grain Craft’s Portland mill has a daily capacity of 8,700 cwt., and processes both hard red winter and hard spring wheat for bread, tortilla, high gluten, whole wheat and cracked wheat flour.
“This long-term lease extension solidifies our commitment to our customers in Pacific Northwest,” said Alan Koenig, Grain Craft Chief Supply Chain Officer. “We are grateful for the long-standing and collaborative relationship we have with the Port, and we are excited to be able to continue bringing our PNW customers a high-quality flour with efficient and economic freight.”
In addition to the Portland mill, Grain Craft operates 14 additional flour mills across the country along with the Grain Craft Innovation & Quality (GCIQ) Lab located in Manhattan, Kansas.
